Mystery Train is Elvis' fifth work and his last for Sun Studio. It contains two tracks recorded on the penultimate session on the Memphis record label in 1955. It was re-released by RCA under catalog number 47-6357 on December 2, 1955.

With Elvis topping the charts with his fourth single, "Baby Let's Play House / I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone", Sam Phillips and his trio continued to lead the music business. The performances increased as the press got their hands on a rumor that would soon become real - Elvis would be heading to RCA before the year was over.

With that and the countless concerts he played, Elvis would only enter Sun a few times before heading to RCA. At these times, the recordings covered classics that would not even be released in that decade, such as the first version of "When it Rains, it Really Pours", captured in the last session in the studio - on November 4, 1955 - but only released in 1992.

Elvis' fifth and final single on Sam Phillips' label would be recorded on July 21, 1955, his penultimate session in the studio, when the classics "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" and "Mystery Train" would be created, and used for the single, in addition to the hit "Trying to Get to You" - which the first version, from early 1955, had been lost.

With the notoriety given to the singer by the Colonel's marketing, sales were excellent. RCA saw a huge profit on Elvis, having paid a hefty amount for the season for Presley's pass.

Soon the cinema would crave for him too.
